Daduro Night Street Soccer Season 3 Kicks Off in Alausa

The much-anticipated Season 3 of the Daduro Night 3-Aside Street Soccer Competition will kick off on Friday, May 1, 2026, in Alausa, Ikeja.

The much-anticipated Season 3 of the Daduro Night 3-Aside Street Soccer Competition will kick off on Friday, May 1, 2026, in Alausa, Ikeja.

Speaking at a press briefing held at the Alausa Town Hall, the tournament organizer, Mr. Adepitan Saheed, announced that this year’s edition has been streamlined to 16 teams, down from 24 in previous seasons. The teams will be divided into four groups, with the top two from each group advancing automatically to the quarter-finals. The competition is scheduled to run for one month.

Adepitan described the tournament as more than just a football competition, emphasizing its role as a community-driven, youth-led initiative aimed at engaging and empowering young people through structured, safe, and exciting nighttime sporting activities. He assured stakeholders that adequate security arrangements have been put in place to guarantee a smooth and hitch-free tournament.

He also reiterated the support of Alausa youths for President Bola Ahmed Tinubu, describing the area as “Asiwaju’s ward” and expressing gratitude for initiatives that have fostered unity, development, and a renewed sense of purpose within the community. He called on government bodies and potential sponsors to support the initiative in its mission to discover and nurture hidden talents.

In her remarks, the Head of Social Media for the competition, Miss Bukola Lawal, revealed that the event is expected to attract over 1,000 spectators per match. She added that previous editions recorded over one million social media reach, highlighting the growing popularity and impact of the tournament.
