On the 24th of August 2021, 655 new confirmed cases and 5 deaths were recorded in Nigeria

Till date, 188243 cases have been confirmed, 169035 cases have been discharged and 2281 deaths have been recorded in 36 states and the Federal Capital Territory

The 655 new cases are reported from 9 states- Lagos (288), Rivers (188), Oyo (64), Akwa Ibom (31), FCT (28), Ekiti (21), Edo (17), Bayelsa (11), and Kaduna (7)

A multi-sectoral national emergency operations centre (EOC), activated at Level 2, continues to coordinate the national response activities
