On the 23rd of August 2021, 565 new confirmed cases and 8 deaths were recorded in Nigeria

Till date, 187588 cases have been confirmed, 168818 cases have been discharged and 2276 deaths have been recorded in 36 states and the Federal Capital Territory

The 565 new cases are reported from 14 states- Lagos (205), Rivers (73), Ondo (63), FCT (53), Oyo (53), Ekiti (37), Delta (24), Edo (20), Benue (12), Bayelsa (6), Kwara (6), Osun (6), Ogun (5), and Adamawa (2)

A multi-sectoral national emergency operations centre (EOC), activated at Level 2, continues to coordinate the national response activities
