Ojodu Council Chairman monitors markets on sanitation, Covid-19 compliance

The Executive Chairman, Ojodu LCDA Hon. David Olusegun Odunmbaku on Thursday 14th October reiterated his commitment to having clean and serene markets and communities.

He made this known during a media tour to various markets within Ojodu LCDA. The Council Chairman who was ably represented by the Vice Chairman, Hon Bunmi Oluyadi expressed that Health and Sanitation take cardinal positions in the agenda of the present administration. Thus, the council boss has made provisions for all paraphernalia that would ensure that the environment is kept clean and livable.

“We have made provision for daily clearance of refuse in all markets, with prime emphasis on Thursdays being the special sanitation days”, the council boss retorted.

While being asked about the Council’s efforts in combatting the ravaging COVID-19 pandemic, Hon. Oluyadi noted that the present administration has been vehemently working on sensitization and advocacy throughout the nooks and crannies of the LCDA, using interpersonal, traditional (Prints and Broadcast) and social media; as well as the availability of vaccination facilities at both Ogba and Gbadamosi Public Health Centers (with prior registration online) respectively. All these were done in a bid to compliment the efforts of both the State and Federal government in stemming the tide of the pandemic.

The markets visited include Abibatu Mogaji Ultra-Modern Multipurpose market, Ogba; Sunday Sunday Market, Ogba; and Spare Part Market Agidingbi.

The market representatives expressed their eagerness to synergize and comply with all directives of the present administration in ensuring development and sanity in their various markets. While responding to media queries, the Iyaloja General of Ojodu Chief Mrs Folashade noted that sanitation is a usual habit in Ojodu LCDA, “this is evident in the clean environment you call all see here”, she concluded.

The market leaders of both Multipurpose and Spare Part Markets, Chief Mrs Kasumu Abebi and Mr. Sunday respectively, also registered their willingness to comply with all the sanitary directives and guidelines for the betterment of all and sundry.

Also in the entourage at the media tour were the HOD Health and Sanitation Services, San. Samuel Sangolana, HOU Public Affairs Unit, Mrs Bukola Bankole and other health officers and staff of Ojodu LCDA.
