Coronavirus: Lagos hits over 2,000 cases after 51 new infections on Wednesday

Coronavirus: Lagos Discharges 31 Recovered Patients on Sunday

The confirmed cases of Coronavirus in Lagos have surpassed 2,000, figures released by the Nigerian Centre for Disease Control, NCDC, showed late Wednesday night.

The state ramps up 51 new infections on Wednesday to take its overall infections total to 2,041, which is almost double of the national infections rate put at 4,971.

However, Lagos has recorded a drop in new cases this week, raking in 88 cases on Monday, 57 cases on Tuesday and 51 cases on Wednesday.

This cannot be compared to when it hit over 200 daily infections twice last week.

Lagos discharged 26 Coronavirus patients who recovered on Wednesday to take the total number of those discharged to 528.

So far, the state has recorded 33 deaths, according to the NCDC.

But Lagos still has a mountain to climb despite discharging 528 patients which is more than half of the 1,070 Coronavirus survivors discharged so far in the country.

Currently, it has 1,480 active Coronavirus cases to manage.
