Coronavirus: Buhari orders release of 70,000mt of grains for the poor

Nigeria’s President, Muhammadu Buhari has approved the release of  70,000 metric tonnes of grains to be shared among the poor and vulnerable people following lockdown occasioned by Coronavirus pandemic.

Bashir Ahmad, Personal Assistant on New Media to the president disclosed this in a tweet tweet on Wednesday.

He said the grains were from the National Grain Reserve and would be shared among the vulnerable.

“President Muhammadu Buhari has approved the release of 70,000 metric tonnes of grains from the National Grain Reserve to be shared to vulnerable persons in the country as part of the palliative measures for the #COVID19 pandemic,” he tweeted.
