Chelle Seeks Enhanced Terms in Proposed Super Eagles Contract
The proposed contract of Super Eagles Head Coach, Eric Chelle, has outlined a range of administrative, welfare and technical conditions aimed at strengthening operational efficiency and performance delivery.
According to details of the proposal, Chelle is seeking a monthly salary of $130,000, covering himself, his technical crew and personal assistant. The draft agreement also includes provisions for structured and timely remuneration of staff, with salaries to be paid on or before the 30th of each month, alongside bonuses and allowances in line with federation guidelines.
A key welfare request in the proposal is the provision of accommodation in a secure environment with 24-hour uninterrupted electricity. The coach reportedly emphasised that consistent power supply is essential for match analysis, player monitoring and effective coordination with his backroom staff.
In addition, Chelle has requested a private SUV with chauffeur, security and GPS facilities to enable seamless movement during official assignments. The proposal also calls for the issuance of formal working contracts for his technical staff and inclusion of his personal assistant in the federation’s bonus and allowance structure.
On technical matters, the coach is seeking full autonomy in team selection and player call-ups, as well as the right to determine opponents for international friendly matches. The draft further provides for regular travel to monitor both foreign-based and domestic league players for potential integration into the senior national team and age-grade squads.
Other provisions include a furnished office equipped with a projector and internet access for tactical analysis, supply of required technical equipment, flight tickets for his wife and two children, and monthly strategy meetings involving all national team coaches.
The proposal is understood to be under consideration by the Nigeria Football Federation, as discussions continue over the final terms of engagement.
