Hammed Idowu Tijani, the Chairman of Ojokoro Local Council Development Area of Lagos has promised to make roads in the LCDA motorable.

He stated this on Monday when he declared open massive rehabilitation of roads within the Local Council Development Area.

According to him, the rehabilitation is in fulfillment of his administration’s promise to always ensure continuity of good governance by completing all the projects initiated during his previous administration.

Tijani said his decision to prioritise the grading of several roads across the Seven (7) wards in the LCDA, was directly beneficial to the wellbeing of the good people in Ojokoro.

“As the raining season is fast approaching, grading of these roads will address the perennial environmental and infrastructural challenges facing the community, including flooding”.

Some of the roads already graded across the wards includes, Okegbenro Street; Baale Adeshola street; Shola Martins street; Michael Alade street; Gasper Osagie street; Ogunshola street and Seyinsola street.

Some other roads graded are Tayo Makinde Street; Oliyide street; Taiwo street; Temple Road (Power Line) as well as Cole Street and Adigun street, among others.

The grading of roads before the rainy season has continued in various streets across the Seven wards in the LCDA.

Meanwhile, the Council boss accompanied by the Council’s Legislators have embarked on the inspection tour to see how far rehabilitation work had gone in the various wards.

Leader of the Council’s Legislative House, Tunde Oyekunle, during the inspection tour, applauded the Chairman’s initiative, saying it would improve the quality of life and productivity of residents, reduce maintenance cost on vehicles, and reduce the cost of doing business and earning a livelihood in Ojokoro LCDA.
