The Executive Chairman of Ikeja Local Government, Comrade Akeem Olalekan Dauda (AKOD), today led the apex leaders of Ikeja and members of the Executive Council on a condolence visit to Cardinal James Omolaja Odumbaku, following the passing of his beloved wife, Hon. Oloye Olanisimi Odumbaku, who departed this life on Wednesday, June 24, 2026, at the age of 59.
The late Hon. Oloye Olanisimi Odumbaku, a former Commissioner for Women Affairs in Ondo State, was celebrated for her exemplary life of compassion, charity, and selfless public service. Her enduring contributions to humanity and the countless lives she positively impacted remain a lasting legacy.
Accompanying the Chairman on the condolence visit were distinguished Ikeja apex leaders, including Chief Funso Ologunde, Apostle Olowoporoku, and Prince Oluranti Olufon. Also present were the Vice Chairman, Hon. Abisola Omisore; the Secretary to the Local Government, Prince Adeyinka Illo; members of the Legislative Arm led by the Leader of the House, Hon. Rasheed Adisa Ogunseye; Supervisory Councillors, Special Advisers, and other officials of Ikeja Local Government.
Speaking on behalf of the Ikeja apex leaders, Chief Funso Ologunde described the deceased as a woman of virtue, honour, and uncommon generosity whose life was devoted to the service of God and humanity. He prayed that Almighty God would comfort Baba Eto and the entire Odumbaku family, granting them the strength to bear the painful loss.
On behalf of the Executive, Management, and Staff of Ikeja Local Government, Chairman AKOD presented an official letter of condolence to Baba Eto, conveying the
Council’s heartfelt sympathies. He prayed for the peaceful repose of the departed soul and asked God to grant the family the fortitude to bear the irreplaceable loss.
Chairman AKOD noted that although Hon. Oloye Olanisimi Odumbaku has departed this earthly life, her enduring legacy of kindness, love, and dedicated service will continue to inspire generations and remain forever cherished in the hearts of all who knew her.
