A landmark gathering of Nigerians from across the nation and the Diaspora convened to celebrate the outstanding achievements of His Excellency President Bola Ahmed Tinubu, GCFR, and His Excellency Vice President Kashim Shettima, GCON, setting a historic precedent.
The grand Mid-Term Celebratory Dinner, titled “Two Years of Impact: Honouring Mr. President and the Voices of Renewed Hope”, was hosted at the Presidential Banquet Hall, Aso Villa, Abuja, providing a platform for introspection, gratitude, and renewed national commitment.
The event drew together esteemed government officials, policymakers, thought leaders, and citizens who share a common vision for the promise of Renewed Hope, marking two transformative years of the Tinubu administration, defined by bold reforms in key sectors.
Guest speakers delivered compelling remarks, highlighting how the Renewed Hope Action Plan is being effectively implemented and pointing to the measurable progress already changing the national landscape.
Representing the Vice President, His Excellency Sen. Kashim Shettima, GCON, was the Special Adviser to the President on General Duties, Dr Aliyu Modibbo Umar. He conveyed the Vice President’s sincere gratitude and explained his absence due to an essential national assignment in Lagos. In his address, Dr. Modibbo praised the Renewed Hope Global platform for advancing policy dialogue and citizen engagement.
“This is more than a celebration; it is a tribute to effective leadership and national service. It reflects growing confidence in the Renewed Hope Agenda,” he stated. He went on to highlight achievements in stabilising the economy, boosting infrastructure, enhancing security, and implementing significant financial reforms.
Also in attendance was Dr Mustapha Abdullahi, Director-General of the Energy Commission of Nigeria. He applauded the initiative for sustaining interaction between leaders and citizens. “Our Commission is fully committed to the President’s vision. We are aligned with his priorities and ready to deliver practical support,” he affirmed, noting the Commission’s efforts toward ensuring access to sustainable energy.
In a goodwill message, Hon. Babatunde Ogala, Senior Advocate of Nigeria and Lead Counsel to President Tinubu, praised the Diaspora initiative for providing a credible platform for policy feedback and input, and urged dedication to the administration’s long-term goals as the Grand Patron of the movement.
Ambassador J.K. Adebola, Chairman of Renewed Hope Global, also delivered a closing remark, urging citizens to remain steadfast in their support. “We are beginning to see results from the reforms. Fuel and food prices are coming down. Nigerians must continue to believe in and stay committed to their goals. Let us hold on to the 4Ps, which are Patience, Perseverance, Patriotism, and Prayers,” he declared.
In his welcome address, Prince Ade Omole, Director of the Diaspora Directorate from the defunct Tinubu/Shettima Presidential Campaign Council, applauded the contributions of Nigerians in the Diaspora and reviewed progress in the economy, oil and gas, youth empowerment, education, and national security. He particularly praised the Student Loans scheme, managed by the Managing Director and Chief Executive Officer of the Nigerian Education Loan Fund (NELFUND), Mr. Akintunde Sawyerr, as well as the renewed interest in Nigeria and the increase in investments within the oil and gas sector following reforms by Engr. Gbenga Komolafe, Chief Executive of the Nigerian Upstream Petroleum Regulatory Commission (NUPRC), and the solarisation energy project spearheaded by Dr Mustapha Abdullahi, Managing Director/Chief Executive Officer of the Energy Commission of Nigeria (ECN).
A powerful moment of unity emerged when Prince Omole moved a motion for Nigerians in the Diaspora to pledge continued support for the Tinubu/Shettima administration, not only up to 2027 but also beyond. The motion was seconded by Ambassador J.K. Adebola, Hon. Jennifer Oguzie, and Hon. Khairat Animashaun-Adeboye and received unanimous approval, signalling strong global backing for the administration.
The event concluded with a shared affirmation that President Tinubu’s leadership beyond 2027 is crucial. It was firmly stated that extending his term will ensure the consolidation of ongoing reforms and the completion of major initiatives already underway. With sustained leadership, Nigeria can look forward to strengthened governance, robust economic growth, and significant national progress across all sectors.
