As part of continual efforts to improve the quality of teaching and learning outcomes in public and private schools, the Lagos State Government recently released the year 2020-2023 approved list of books for public and private schools across the State. The Iyaloja Playbook authored by the publisher and editor of Lagos Panorama, Tayo Aderinola has been enlisted in the Lagos State Secondary School reading lists for JSS 3 Literature in English, Drama for 2021/2022 academic session.

Jakande’s remains laid to rest in Lagos

The remains of elder statesman and first civilian governor of Lagos State, Alhaji Lateef Jakande, was on Friday interred at the Vaults and Gardens private cemetery Ikoyi, Lagos.

The funeral service was conducted by Islamic scholars and clerics from different communities and mosques in Lagos State, who prayed for the repose of the deceased and family members he left behind.

The National Leader of the All Progressives Congress (APC) and former governor of Lagos State, Asiwaju Bola Ahmed Tinubu, has described the first civilian governor of the state, Alhaji Lateef Kayode Jakande, as the ‘last of the political titans’.

AS Tinubu, who was governor of Lagos between 1999 and 2007, made the remark in a condolence statement on Thursday in Lagos.

Alhaji Jakande died in the early hours of Thursday at 91.
