The Chartered Institute of Personnel Management (CIPM), as part of its efforts to support and bring succor to the victims of the bus-train accident of Thursday, 9th March 2023, has donated relief packages to the Lagos State Government.

This was announced to Lagos Panorama through a press release signed by the Public Affairs Officer Office of the Head of Service, Debo Adeniji said that “at the presentation by the Registrar of the Institute, Ms. Toyin Naiwo FCIPM, which was held at the Public Service Office / Office of the Head of Service, noted that the relief package donated to the Lagos State Government is to show the Institute’s solidarity to the Government and also support members of staffs who sustained various degrees of injuries on account of the accident”.

Naiwo, who is saddened by the sad event, sends deep condolences to the families of those that lost their lives in the accident, praying that God would grant them eternal rest.

She further condoles the Lagos State Governor, Mr. Babajide Olusola Sanwo-Olu, the Lagos State Head of Service, Mr. Hakeem Muri-Okunola, the entire Body of Permanent Secretaries and all MDAs statewide, the families of the victims and prays that God will repose the souls of the dead and grant quick recovery to the injured ones.

The Permanent Secretary, Public Service Office, Mrs. ‘Sunkanmi Oyegbola FCIPM, in her remarks, expressed appreciation to the Institute for identifying with the Lagos State Government at this trying time when the State Government mourns colleagues and friends that lost their lives and those who sustained injuries in the bus–train accident on their way to the office.

The Permanent Secretary of, the Civil Service Commission, Mrs. Boladele Dapo- Thomas, while receiving the package on behalf of the State Government, noted that the token given would go a long way in the lives of those who have already been discharged and those who are still receiving treatment at the State General Hospitals while also assuring the Institute of continuous support at all times.

Some of the items received include Parks of Table Water, Parks of Tissues, Cartons of Peak Powder Milk, Cartons of Milo Sachet, Park Sugar, Parks of Lucozade Boost, Cartons of Glucose, Parks of Close-Up Toothpaste and Toothbrushes.

Amongst those who witnessed the presentation were the Body of the Permanent Secretary, Directors from the Chartered Institute of Personnel Management (CIPM), Chairman and Members, Chartered Institute of Personnel Management (CIPM), Alausa Chapter.
