Aragbiji Accepts Resignation of Senator Ogunwale as Asiwaju of Iragbiji

The Palace of the Aragbiji of Iragbijiland has formally acknowledged and accepted the resignation of Senator Felix Kolawole Ogunwale from his honorary position as Asiwaju of Iragbiji.

In a letter addressed to the palace and dated March 3, 2026, Senator Ogunwale communicated his decision to step down from the revered traditional title, which was conferred on him nearly three decades ago by the late Timothy Adepoju Oyelade.

The letter was addressed to the current monarch, Abdur-Rasheed Ayotunde Olabomi, in which the former lawmaker respectfully excused himself from further holding the position of Asiwaju of Iragbijiland.

Following the receipt of the letter, Oba Olabomi, Odundun IV, Asoludero, graciously accepted the resignation and expressed appreciation to Senator Ogunwale for his support, service, and contributions to the development of Iragbijiland during the period he held the title.

The palace noted that it remains committed to strengthening traditional leadership and promoting initiatives aimed at enhancing unity, growth, and prosperity within the Iragbiji community.

The statement was issued by the Aragbiji Palace Media Office through the Official Press Officer to the monarch, Aderibigbe Adetayo Samson.
