The Lagos State Neighbourhood Safety Corps (LNSC) has commenced an online recruitment exercise for Neighbourhood Safety Officers across all local government areas of the state.

Details of the recruitment were published on the official website of the Lagos State Neighbourhood Safety Agency (LNSA) and made available on Monday. The exercise targets Neighbourhood Safety Officer (Group B) positions and is open to qualified applicants on a full-time basis across the state.

According to the agency, the initiative is part of efforts to strengthen community policing and enhance grassroots security.

“Join our community policing initiative to enhance safety and security at the grassroots level,” the agency stated in the notice.

The LNSA listed the basic requirements for applicants as a minimum of SSCE/WAEC qualification, an age range of 18 to 30 years, physical fitness, and a clean criminal record.

Explaining the application process, the agency said interested candidates are to complete an online application form and upload the required documents through the official recruitment portal. Successful applicants will proceed to the assessment stage, which includes screening tests and interviews.

The final phase of the exercise is onboarding, after which successful candidates will begin their careers with the agency.

The recruitment follows earlier approval by Lagos State Governor, Babajide Sanwo-Olu, for the engagement of additional officers into the Lagos State Neighbourhood Safety Corps.

In a statement issued on January 9 via the agency’s official Facebook page, the General Manager of the LNSA, Ifalade Oyekan, said the recruitment would boost the agency’s operational capacity and improve response time to security challenges at the community level.

Oyekan added that the exercise aligns with the state government’s commitment to ensuring a safe and secure environment for residents, particularly within communities and around public schools.

The agency has urged eligible youths and residents to take advantage of the employment opportunity and ensure all application details are accurate and complete.
