In a statement shared on his official Facebook page, the governor said the decision followed extensive consultations and strategic engagements with key party stakeholders, aimed at presenting a united and credible candidate.

Abiodun disclosed that leading aspirants from Ogun West, including Gboyega Nasir Isiaka and Isiaq Abiodun Akinlade, threw their weight behind Adeola, describing their support as a strong demonstration of unity and commitment to the party’s collective interest.

He noted that the consensus candidacy was reached after a careful assessment of all aspirants based on competence, capacity, and alignment with the administration’s development vision for the state.

The governor expressed confidence that the APC remains cohesive and well-positioned to retain power, urging members to stay law-abiding and focused ahead of the governorship contest.

Reacting to his endorsement, Senator Adeola, in a post on his official Facebook page, confirmed the agreement among key stakeholders.

“I, Solomon Olamilekan Adeola Yayi, flanked by Hon. Prince Gboyega Nasir Isiaka (GNI) and Hon. Isiaq Abiodun Akinlade, addressed the press to affirm our collective agreement on my emergence as the consensus governorship candidate of the All Progressives Congress in Ogun State,” he stated.

He added that, “We also reiterated that Ogun West is fully prepared and united for the forthcoming gubernatorial contest.”

The senator expressed appreciation to party leaders and supporters, saying: “THANK YOU APC. THANK YOU, Bola Ahmed Tinubu.”

Abiodun added that Adeola’s candidacy represents a significant opportunity for Ogun West to produce the next governor, pledging that the party’s flagbearer will build on existing achievements and deliver greater dividends of democracy to the people.
