APC Releases Screening Schedule for Governors, National Assembly Aspirants

The All Progressives Congress (APC) has announced the screening timetable for sitting governors seeking re-election, governorship aspirants, as well as aspirants vying for Senate and House of Representatives seats ahead of the party’s primary elections.

According to the party, the Screening Committee for incumbent governors seeking re-election or aspiring for Senate seats is chaired by the APC National Chairman, Nentawe Goshwe Yilwatda, while the APC National Secretary, Surajudeen Ajibola Basiru, will serve as Secretary of the committee.

Other members of the committee are drawn from the party’s National Working Committee (NWC).

The screening exercise for sitting governors seeking re-election or contesting Senate seats is scheduled to hold from Friday, May 8 to Saturday, May 9, 2026, at the Plateau State Governors Lodge.

Proceedings are expected to commence at 4:00 PM on Friday and 10:00 AM on Saturday.

The party also disclosed that screening for all other governorship aspirants will take place from Saturday, May 9 to Sunday, May 10, 2026, at the APC National Secretariat’s NWC Hall in Abuja, beginning at 10:00 AM daily.

In a separate statement issued in Abuja on May 8, 2026, the APC announced the screening schedule for aspirants contesting National Assembly seats.

Senate aspirants are billed to undergo screening from Saturday, May 9 to Sunday, May 10, 2026, at the Abuja Continental Hotel, formerly known as Sheraton Hotel, Abuja, with proceedings starting at 10:00 AM each day.

Similarly, screening for House of Representatives aspirants will hold within the same period at Treasures Suites & Conferences, also commencing daily at 10:00 AM.

The party urged all aspirants to attend the screening exercise punctually and come along with all necessary documents and credentials.
