The All Progressives Congress (APC) has postponed its National Caucus and National Executive Committee (NEC) meetings until July 18th and 19th, 2023.
APC in a statement by its National Secretary Iyiola Omisore said the postponement is necessitated by the regional and sub-regional schedules and engagements of President Bola Ahmed Tinubu, who emerged as the new Chairman of the Economic Community of West African States (ECOWAS) on Sunday.
Tinubu succeeded Umaro Embalo of Guinea Bissau as the Chairman of the Authority of Heads of State and Government of ECOWAS.
The 63rd Ordinary Session summit was Tinubu’s first engagement within the African continent since he assumed office as the president of Nigeria on May 29, 2023.
Omisore said that the party regrets all inconveniences related to the postponement of the APC National Caucus and NEC meetings.
It should be recalled that the APC’s NEC meetings were earlier scheduled for July 10 and 11.
In related development, the Senator Abdullahi Adamu-led National Working Committee (NWC) will on Monday (today) meet with all Chairmen of APC State chapters at the national secretariat in Abuja by 1.00 pm.
The meeting is for the former Nasarawa State governor to update state leaders on the nominees of the party’s statutory and ad-hoc committees before they are tabled before NEC for approval.
