The All Progressives Congress (APC) Ikeja Federal Constituency Central Campaign Coordinating Committee (CCCC) has intensified grassroots mobilisation in Onigbongbo LCDA ahead of the 2027 general elections, engaging key community stakeholders in a strategic outreach meeting.
The engagement took place on Friday, September 4, 2026, during a Special Stakeholders Meeting attended by the Executive Chairman of Onigbongbo LCDA, Hon. Moyosore Adebanjo; Vice Chairman, Hon. Shamsideen Oloyede Akerele; APC Chairman in the council, Hon. Tunde Obanubi; and the Member representing Ikeja Constituency 01 in the Lagos State House of Assembly, Hon. Adeseyi Lawal.
Also present were the Leader of the Onigbongbo LCDA Legislative House, Hon. Francis Nkwo; Director of Media and Communications, Ikeja Federal Constituency Central Campaign Coordinating Committee (CCCC), Alhaji Kehinde Onifade; Secretary, Directorate of Stakeholder Engagement and Mobilisation, Hon. Mustapha Anisere; alongside other CCCC members and party leaders.
The meeting brought together critical grassroots stakeholders, including the Baba Oja and Iya Oja of Onigbongbo, market leaders, members of the National Union of Road Transport Workers (NURTW), tipper garage operators, scavengers, popularly known as boola, as well as artisans.
The engagement provided an opportunity for direct interaction, consultation and coordination with the various groups, while reinforcing the importance of sustained grassroots participation in the political process.
Discussions also focused on plans for further engagement with the different associations. A dedicated Permanent Voter’s Card (PVC) screening exercise is expected to be organised for their members at a later date as part of efforts to encourage electoral participation and strengthen voter mobilisation.
The stakeholders’ meeting is part of the ongoing strategy of the APC’s Ikeja Federal Constituency CCCC to deepen grassroots engagement, strengthen relationships with community-based associations and establish a coordinated campaign structure across the constituency ahead of the 2027 elections.
The committee said sustained engagement with grassroots stakeholders remains central to building an effective and inclusive campaign organisation across Ikeja Federal Constituency.
