The All Progressives Congress (APC) Ikeja Chapter has elected new Executive Members to run the affairs of the party in the Ikeja Federal Constituency in the next four years, on Saturday at the Oluwaleyinmu Sports Center, Ikeja Lagos.
The APC Ikeja Federal Constituency that comprise of Ikeja LG, Ojodu and Onigbongbo LCDAs elected Alhaji Dally Adeokun as the Chairman, Engineer Kayode Ajakaye as the Vice Chairman, Hon Tunde Obanubi as the Secretary.
Others are Kofoworola Gomez as Assistant Secretary, Comrade Tayo Aderinola Publicity Secretary, while Mrs Lola Jackson is the Assistant Publicity Secretary, Ajani Isaac is the Legal Adviser, Barr Martin Ofurum is to assist him as Assistant Legal Adviser.
Also elected were Gbemi Lolade as Treasurer and Alhaji Wasiu Akerele assistant Treasurer, Sadeeq Adeleke Financial Secretary and to be assisted by Alhaja Olusola Kokumo as Assistant Financial Secretary. Alhaji R.A. Akinola Organizing Secretary while Hon Edward Aragbonfoh assistant Organizing Secretary, Mrs Victoria Ajisafe was also elected to the post of Welfare Officer and to be assisted by Musibau Bakare, Opara Vitalus as Auditor, Chief Samsideen Akerele as Assistant Auditor, Caroline Ojabulu as Women Leader and to be assisted by Princess Sidikatu Illo.
Others are Youth Leader Remi Ajibola to be assisted by Odenike Dayo, Ex-Officio I, II, III & IV are Semiu Yusuf, Lola Bashorun, Alhaji Kazeem Olanrewaju and Toyin Giwa respectively. Prince Rotimi Adeniyi was also elected to represent the Physically Challenged in the new Executive.
The Chairman of the Electoral Committee for Ikeja Federal Constituency, Mr Akin Ilesanmi averred that he was satisfied beyond expectation for the conduct of the LGA Congress in Ikeja Local, he noted that only one aspirant per position picked the party nomination form, hence all the 27 positions and State/National delegates were unopposed, describing the process as the most peaceful and well coordinated.
Mr. Ilesanmi applauded the leadership of the party in Ikeja Federal Constituency for the peaceful conduct of the process and adjudged the Congress in Ikeja as the best.
The Independent Electoral Commission (INEC) observation team also affirmed to the peaceful and transparent process of the Ikeja LG Congress.
The newly elected LGA Chairman APC Ikeja LG, Alhaji Dally Adeokun in his acceptance remark expressed gratitude to the party leadership, most especially Asiwaju Bola Ahmed Tinubu for providing the platform for progressive ideals to thrive.
The former Council Executive Secretary, also thanked the GAC leadership Chief Mrs Kemi Nelson, Cardinal James Odunmbaku and Dr Abayomi Finnih for their support in ensuring a peaceful and well coordinated congress in Ikeja Federal Constituency.
Alhaji Adeokun also appreciated the immense support of Chief of Staff to the Governor of Lagos State, Mr Tayo Ayinde, Member House of Representatives, Hon James Abiodun Faleke, Chief Funso Ologunde, the pioneer Chairman Ikeja Local Government Council, and his bosom friend Alhaji Alani Okikioposu and all the delegates for their peaceful conduct during the electioneering process.
The Executive Chairmen for Ikeja LGC and Onigbingbo LCDA Dr Mojeed Alabi Balogun and Hon Dotun Olakanle were among the dignitaries who attended the free, fair and peaceful Congress congress.
