The All Progressives Congress (APC) National Executive Committee (NEC) has extended the tenure of Ward, Local Government, and State Executive Committees nationwide until December 31, 2025, as resolved during the 14th NEC meeting at the State House in Abuja on July 24, 2025.

The meeting, presided over by President Bola Ahmed Tinubu, brought together key party stakeholders, including Vice President Kashim Shettima, Senate President Godswill Akpabio, House of Representatives Speaker Tajudeen Abbas, state governors, National Assembly leaders, and other top ranking leaders.

The tenure extension aims to ensure party stability in the run-up to significant political activities.

President Tinubu stated that the APC’s decision to suspend its national convention was motivated by a desire to welcome more defectors from opposition parties, expressing his conviction that more opposition leaders would soon join the ruling party.

Following this resolution, the existing executive committees at the ward, local government, and state levels will remain in office without disruption, serving until December 31, 2025.
