
The Member House Representatives (MHR), Rt. Hon James Abiodun Faleke has again empowered over nine hundred members of the Ikeja Federal Constituency for the umpteenth time this year, again on Tuesday, at the Police College, Ikeja GRA, Lagos, Southwest Nigeria.


The beneficiaries who were drawn from the 18 wards of the Ikeja Federal Constituency, were presented with different equipment ranging from 100 minibusses, tricycles, deep freezers supported with generators to power, sewing machines, mechanic toolboxes, hairdryers, barbing clippers and sterilizers, vulcanizing machines and a host of other vocational equipment.
In his opening remark, the Chairman, of the All Progressives Congress, (APC) Lagos Chapter, Pastor Cornelius Ojelabi, commended the Federal Lawmaker for his series of empowerments programme for members of the Ikeja Federal Constituency.

Pastor Ojelade who charged all the APC LGA Chairmen to be agents of peace and reconciliation in their respective local governments, noted that his first attendance at the JAF Empowerments program was before his election as the Chairman of the ruling APC, and now he is happier and prouder to associate with the epoch event as the Chairman of the progressive party.

The Party Chairman while talking to the beneficiaries alluded that Hon Faleke has a heart of giving “it’s not as if this man is buoyant, but he has the heart of giving. So, the only thing you can do to reciprocate his kind gesture, is to make good use of this equipment and support his party, this shows that there are rewards as a APC member” he advised.
“Last year I was invited as an invitee and friend of Hon James Faleke, today I am here witnessing the event as the number one APC member in Lagos State” the remark attracted applauded from event attendees.
“I am happy and proud to be associated with Hon James Faleke who is a member of my party and a brother” the party Chairman concluded wishing everyone a rewarding and prosperous 2022.

The Chairman APC Ikeja LG, Alhaji Dally Adeokun in his remark while declaring the event open noted that Hon Faleke performance as Member House Representatives for the Ikeja Federal Constituency is quite unprecedented.
Alhaji Adeokun stated that “since 1999 to date Ikeja Federal Constituency have witnessed four rep members, and usually it was a one-term affair but Hon Faleke’s performance is quite outstanding and this premised why he has a third term. Last year we had to award him a new name as Koseleri One of Ikeja” the party Chairman commented to the admiration of the audience.

The Chairman House Committee on Finance, Hon James Faleke while addressing journalists at the event said “for the second time we are sharing 100 minibusses, tricycles, deep freezer, lots of other equipment and tools to support our people”.
“The empowerment became most necessary considering the aftermath of the COVID-19 pandemic, there is a need to ameliorate their standard of living. We hope to continue to do more to support our people”.
This year we have consistently organized training and also supported them with grants after training them in their respective vocations, our constituent members which include youths, women and vulnerable persons within the Ikeja Federal Constituency have also benefited. Some months we have about 4 to 6 training programs supported with start-up grants and we hope to do more in the coming year” asserted the Federal Lawmaker.


On the selection of the beneficiaries, the third term lawmaker stated that “beneficiaries were selected through committees set up across the18 wards of Ikeja Federal Constituency, through the Community Development Associations (CDA/CDC), traditional groups and artisan associations, party & religious leaders and other relevant stakeholders”.

The Christian Association of Nigeria (CAN) Ikeja Federal Constituency Chapter presented Hon Faleke with an award in recognition of his humanitarian support and good gesture.

Other dignitaries at the event include Hon Adedamola Richard Kasunmu, Hon Folajimi Mohammed, Mayor Alani Okikioposu, Vice Chairman Ojodu LCDA, Hon Bunmi Oluyadi, APC Assistant Legal Adviser Lagos State, Barr Bola Ladigbolu, Engineer Kayode Ajakaye, Alhaji Kehinde Onifade, Barr Yomi Tijani, ward Chairmen, Councilors and a host of others.

Recall that Lagos Panorama earlier reported in the year, that Hon Faleke had empowered members of the Ikeja Federal Constituency in numerous vocational training with cash grants to startup businesses that include fish farming, computer and phone repair, soap making and a host of others. So far, well over 3,000 constituents of Ikeja Federal Constituency had benefited from the empowerment programme of the Chairman Finance Committee of the House of Representatives targeted at ameliorating the living standard of the people of Ikeja Federal Constituency.

In February 2021, Hon Faleke empowered over 300 Ikeja constituents again with mini-buses, tricycles, working tools, cash grants, the fourth time in less than 12 months at the same venue, Police College ground, Ikeja, Lagos.
While in August, Faleke empowered constituents that are small scale business operators with equipment and cash grants.
October, he also empowered small scale business entrepreneurs with training and grants for business upgrade of already existing enterprises.
