The ruling All Progressives Congress (APC) will commence the sale of Nomination and Expression of Interest forms on Tuesday.

The ruling All Progressives Congress (APC) will commence the sale of Nomination and Expression of Interest forms on Tuesday.

A source in the APC’s media office in Abuja confirmed the development on Sunday. The party had also decided to sell nomination forms to aspirants for the state Houses of Assembly at the state level.

This, the source added, would enable the party to meet up with time and for administrative convenience.
The source said: “The sale of expression of interest and nomination forms will now start nationwide on Tuesday. The National Working Committee (NWC) is conscious of the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) June 3 deadline given to all political parties, hence, it was resolved that forms for state Houses of Assembly be sold at the state level.”

“The national secretariat will dispatch the state House of Assembly forms to the states over the weekend to enable them to start on Tuesday.”

It was further gathered that the sale of forms for other positions of House of Representatives, Senate, governorship and Presidency will take place in Abuja.

However, the source noted that these categories of forms to be sold in Abuja would be at a designated place due to the ongoing renovation of the national secretariat of the party.
The source added: “For those aspiring for other positions for the House of Representatives, Senate, Governorship and Presidential, their forms will be sold by the National Secretariat at a designated place to be announced by Monday. The ongoing renovation at the Muhammadu Buhari House necessitated the change in venue of sale.”

The source further revealed that but for the delay in the delivery of the forms by the printers, the National Working Committee (NWC) of the party was committed to concluding all arrangements for the conduct of primaries as scheduled by INEC.

Another party source also confirmed that the party would begin the sale of the forms on Tuesday.
“We are good to go by Tuesday. Detailed information about the exercise will soon be made known to the press,” the source added

It was gathered that the exercise, which was scheduled to begin on Saturday, was postponed due to some logistics and administrative challenges.

This is coming four days after the party fixed the fees for the nomination forms — presidential hopefuls are expected to pay N100 million while those for governorship will pay N50 million.

The price of the nomination form for the state House of Assembly was pegged at N2 million, the House of Representatives is N10 million, and that for the Senate is N20 million.
