…Says Gesture Is To Cushion The Effect Of Economic Hardship Arising From Coronavirus Pandemic

The Executive Chairman Of Itire-Ikate LCDA, Hon. (Dr.) Ahmed Olanrewaju Apatira distributes Covid-19/Ramadan Stimulus packages to Islam Clerics, Muslim Faithful and residents of Itire-Ikate LCDA to cushion the effect of ravaging Coronavirus Pandemic at the council secretariat on Saturday, 9th May, 2020.

The food items includes rice, beans, garri, tubers of Yam, eggs, milk, sugar, spaghetti and cash.

The council boss said the gesture was to alleviate the pains the people of this particular sector might be experiencing during this lockdown and Ramadan period.

Furthermore, the executive chairman said about two thousand and five hundred (2,500) people Benefited from the scheme with strict adherence to the mantra of ‘social distancing’ during the distribution.

Recall that since the beginning of the lockdown, the state government has been giving relief materials to her residents, it is pertinent to state that Itire-Ikate LCDA also key into the laudable scheme by providing stimulus packages on numerous occasions to the people of her council area too.

While speaking to journalists, Dr. Apatira said this wonderful programme was as a result of the sincere effort of his adminstration to genuinely interface with the people.

“No one has immunity against this deadly virus, I implore you all to abide by the directives of the state government to prevent further spread of coronavirus within our communities”.

The council helmsman urge residents of Itire-Ikate LCDA to follow all the precautionary measures outline by our health officials, also he hinted that the local government environmental task force ensure Governor Sanwo-Olu directives as regards opening of markets, commuting of passengers by the public transport operators and other related services are not abused.

Moreover, Dr. Apatira called on the Islamic Clerics to use this holy month of Ramadan to seek God’s unending mercies against the spread of the Covid-19.

The Imams while at the programme unanimously expressed appreciation to the council boss for always bringing succour to residents of Itire-Ikate LCDA since the outbreak of coronavirus in Lagos state.

“We gratefully show our gratitude to Alhaji Ahmed Apatira for having the masses at heart, not forgetting the great impact the Iftar/Evening Meal is having on our people at this critical period of time”.
