Another False Narrative: Lagos APC Faults Sahara Reporters Over Alleged Delegate Ordeal

The Lagos State chapter of the All Progressives Congress (APC) has strongly debunked a report by Sahara Reporters alleging that its delegates were stranded due to the non-release of mobilisation funds.

The Lagos State chapter of the All Progressives Congress (APC) has strongly debunked a report by Sahara Reporters alleging that its delegates were stranded due to the non-release of mobilisation funds.

In a statement issued on Saturday, the party described the publication as misleading and entirely false, stressing that no Lagos delegate was left stranded at any airport or motor park. According to the APC, all accredited delegates were transported to Abuja in a well-organised and seamless manner, with adequate arrangements made to ensure their comfort throughout the trip.

The party further clarified that upon arrival in Abuja, delegates were provided with suitable accommodation, contrary to the claims portrayed in the report.

Addressing the issue of funding, the Lagos APC reiterated that the Lagos State Government does not finance party activities, noting that the party independently handles its logistics and finances through its internal structures. It described attempts to link the state government to party operations as a deliberate effort to misinform the public.

The statement also raised concerns about what it termed a recurring pattern of misinformation from the media platform, accusing it of publishing unverified and sensational reports aimed at misleading the public.

“It is therefore not surprising—indeed laughable—that such a claim would emanate from a platform whose publisher doubles as an opposition figure occupying multiple roles within his party,” the statement noted.

The Lagos APC urged the public to be discerning in consuming information, advising citizens to verify sources before accepting sensational claims.

Reaffirming its commitment to unity and effective governance, the party stated that it remains focused on consolidating its structures and supporting the continued development of Lagos State and Nigeria.

The statement was signed by the Lagos APC Spokesman, Mogaji (Hon.) Seye Oladejo, and dated March 28, 2026.
