Anambra Decides: Why I Voted Against Myself

The governorship candidate of the African Democratic Congress (ADC) Akachukwu Nwankpo revealed shortly after casting his ballot in the supplementary election going on in Anambra State to elect a new governor that he voted against himself.

The governorship candidate of the African Democratic Congress (ADC) Akachukwu Nwankpo revealed shortly after casting his ballot in the supplementary election going on in Anambra State to elect a new governor that he voted against himself.

He however revealed that he voted his rival, Chukwuma Soludo of the All Progressives Grand Alliance, APGA.

Explaining why, he said he took the decision because his party had no chance of winning after the election on Saturday, November 6.

The ADC candidate voted at Umuapani ward, polling unit 004 on Tuesday.

According to him, APGA had 90% chances of winning the election, to avoid wasting more resources, he needed to vote for the candidate with the best chance of winning.

INEC had announced on Saturday, November 7 through the state collation/returning officer, Professor Florence Obi, the decision of the commission to hold election in Ihiala local government area on Tuesday, November 9.

Collation of results is ongoing towards formal announcement of the election
