Aminu Dantata: Tinubu, Radda pay condolence visit to family, Kano Governor

President Bola Ahmad Tinubu and Katsina state Governor, Dikko Umaru Radda, on Thursday, paid condolence visit to Kano state government and the family of the late business icon, Alhaji Aminu Alhassan Dantata.

President Tinubu who was represented by his Vice, Kashim Shettima, described Dantata as a pillar of the nation whose death remains sad to Nigerians.

Tinubu said Dantata’s death was not only a great loss to the family and people of Kano state, but to Nigeria and her citizens.

The President appealed to the family to remain united, insisting that, “if it is wealth, the owner of the wealth has gone, so this is to say that nothing lasts for ever.

”Treat the name of Dantata with integrity and value all that he was known for. Uphold his legacy to ensure that things remain as they are in the family and community.”

Governor Radda first visited the Dantata family residence in Koki area of Kano, where Alhaji Tajudeen Dantata, the eldest son of the deceased, and Munzali Dantata received him alongside other family members and close relations.

The Governor offered special prayers for the repose of the late businessman’s soul, joining the family in asking Almighty Allah to forgive his shortcomings and grant him eternal rest in Aljannatul Firdaus.

He then proceeded to condole his Kano State counterpart, Engr. Abba Kabir Yusuf, describing Alhaji Dantata’s death as a great loss to Kano state and Nigeria as a whole.

Governor Radda personally commiserated with Governor Yusuf on behalf of the people and government of Katsina State.

Both governors later accompanied Vice President Kashim Shettina to Mallam Aminu Kano International Airport (MAKIA), where they bid farewell to the Vice President, who came on behalf of his boss, President Tinubu.

Our Correspondent reports that the late Alhaji Aminu Alhassan Dantata received funeral prayers at the Prophet’s Mosque in Madinah and was buried at the revered Al-Baqi Cemetery, following Islamic tradition.
