The Chairman, Lagos State Sports Commission, Mr. Sola Aiyepeku, has stated that all preparations have been concluded for hosting of the number one Women Sporting event in Nigeria tagged “Lagos Women Run” coming up on Saturday, 21st November, 2020.
According to him “Lagos State Sports Commission is fully prepared to host the 2020 Lagos Women Run and very proud to be part of the noble idea for the past five years which is getting stronger and popular every year”.
He restated that this year’s event themed “Run Your Race – Stay Active” will comprise of the Real and Virtual Run, where participants for the latter will make use of a Running App to participate from any part the world.
Aiyepeku explained that the mini-Marathon, which is the 5th Edition, is proudly supported by the Lagos State Government, through the Lagos State Sports Commission, adding that all security measures and logistics to make this year’s Run a success have been put in place with all relevant Security Agencies fully mobilised.
The Chairman, therefore, appealed to Lagosians to come out en masse on Saturday from 7:00 am to cheer the Runners to victory.
Recall that the Wife of the Governor of Lagos State, Mrs. Ibironke Sanwo-Olu participated in the 2019 edition of the Race, running from the start point at the Tafawa Balewa Square, Onikan to the finish point at the Teslim Balogun Stadium, Surulere.
