Alausa Central Mosque celebrates 20th anniversary in style, honours COS Tayo Ayinde

It was a carnival-like atmosphere when the Alausa Central Mosque celebrated its 20th anniversary with prayers and honouring an illustrious son, Chief of Staff to the Lagos State Governor, Mr Tayo Ayinde on Sunday.

It was a carnival-like atmosphere when the Alausa Central Mosque celebrated its 20th anniversary with prayers and honouring an illustrious son, Chief of Staff to the Lagos State Governor, Mr Tayo Ayinde on Sunday.

The Chief Imam of Alausa Central Mosque, Alhaji Saliu Rufai, who also celebrates his 20th anniversary as the Chief Imam of the mosque, gracefully welcomed all sons, daughters and community leaders of Alausa and Ikeja to the anniversary.

He rendered special prayers for peace and progress of the community, Lagos State and Nigeria.

The Chief of Staff to the Lagos State Governor and a prominent son of Alausa Community, who hosted the event, Mr. Tayo Ayinde encouraged youths of the community to remain peaceful and steadfast.

The Buffalo, as Governor Sanwo-Olu’s COS is fondly called, commended the Chief Imam for his spiritual leadership and coordination of the Muslim community of Alausa in a godly manner and urged him to continue the good work.

Mr. Ayinde also eulogized the Baba Adinni of the Mosque and the pioneer Executive Chairman of Ikeja Local Government, Mayor Alani Okikioposu for his leadership qualities and remarkable efforts at all times in uplifting and development of Alausa Community.

The Chief of Staff who was also honoured with an award by the Central Mosque, expressed his gratitude for the recognition and pledged to attracts more sustainable development that will add to the development of the community. He further said that Alausa being the ‘seat of Power’ deserves more dividend of democracy.

Alhaji Alani Okikioposu, the Baba Adinni of Alausa Central Mosque, praised the Chief Imam for his exceptional leadership, spirituality and other qualities in the coordination of the Alausa Central Mosque, which have united the Muslim Community in Alausa and promised to continue to support him for the progress of the community and mankind.  

The pioneer Chairman of Ikeja Local Government, Mayor Alani Okikioposu, also appreciated the Chief of Staff for his usual support to the Mosque and the development of Alausa Community and Lagos State in general.

Other dignitaries at the event include the Vice Chairman Onigbogbo LCDA Hon Rakiya Hassan, the Leader of the Onigbongbo Legislative Council, Hon Kayode Opayemi, Alausa Community Development Association (CDA), honourable Councillors, Igbo community, Hausa community associations, Youth Associations led by NYC Ikeja Chapter leader Comrade Olawale Amole and a host of well-wishers all dressed in costumed Ankara attire.
