The Secretary to the Government of the Federation (SGF), Senator George Akume, on Saturday marked his 72nd birth anniversary with a thanksgiving service held at St. John the Baptist Cathedral in Gboko, Benue State, where he appeared publicly with his new wife, Queen Zaynab Ngohemba-George Akume Dajoh.
The public appearance came less than 24 hours after a reported confirmation of the marriage by a member of the family.
In a statement issued by the Director of Information and Public Relations in the Office of the Secretary to the Government of the Federation (OSGF), Segun Imohiosen, Akume used the occasion to underscore the importance of accountability and cooperation across all levels of government.
According to the statement, the SGF stressed that accountability among the three tiers of government—federal, state and local—is essential to achieving sustainable national development.
He further noted that national development is a shared responsibility that requires effective synergy and collaboration among all arms and levels of government to deliver meaningful progress to citizens.
