A major feature of the opening day was the One-Day Chairman, One-Day Vice Chairman and One-Day Leader of the Legislative Council initiative, designed to promote youth participation in governance. The day’s events were led by the One-Day Chairman, Miss Zainab Ismail, a pupil of St. Peter’s Primary School, Alausa, and winner of the 2025 Ikeja Spelling Bee Competition. According to the council, the Day One events reflect the core pillars of the I.K.E.J.A Agenda, the development framework of the AKOD-led administration, and reaffirm its pledge to deliver the “Better Days” promised during the campaign.

Other dignitaries present included Vice Chairman Hon. Abisola Omisore; Council Manager Mrs. Juliana Taiwo Odubeko, who led the management team; all six councillors led by the Leader of the House, Hon.
