The Executive Chairman of Ikeja Local Government, Comrade Akeem Olalekan Dauda (AKOD), on Thursday, October 22, 2026, joined the Senate Leader of the 10th National Assembly, Senator Michael Opeyemi Bamidele, and other key stakeholders at the Lagos Physical Planning Summit 2.0 to explore strategies for sustainable urban development and priority investments across Lagos State.

The summit, themed “Diagnosis to Delivery: Positioning Lagos for Strategic Regional Development and Priority Investment Agenda,” brought together government officials and other stakeholders to deliberate on practical approaches to strengthening physical planning, promoting strategic investments and advancing the state’s long-term development objectives.

Senator Bamidele delivered the keynote address as the guest speaker at the event, which also attracted the Lagos State Head of Service, Mr. Olabode Agoro; his Ekiti State counterpart, Dr. (Mrs.) Folakemi Gbonjubola Olomojobi; and other government officials and development stakeholders.

AKOD’s participation underscored the importance of local governments in translating state development policies into tangible projects and interventions at the grassroots.

Key areas of interest include infrastructure renewal, environmental sustainability, effective land-use management and the creation of safer, better-planned and more organised communities.

The summit also provided a platform for stakeholders to exchange ideas on aligning government policies, investment priorities and local development needs to promote coordinated urban planning and sustainable economic growth across Lagos State.

As the closest tier of government to the people, Ikeja Local Government remains a critical partner in advancing development initiatives that improve the quality of life of residents and support the broader vision of a more functional, resilient and investment-friendly Lagos.
