Ajeromi-Ifelodun LGA – Three years of sustaining development goals by Fatai Ayoola

The Hon Fatai Ayoola administration in the Ajeromi Ifelodun Local Government has witnessed tremendous sustainable developments in the last three years.

It was a carnival atmosphere in the Ajeromi Ifelodun Local Government Council Secretariat as the Executive Chairman Ajeromi-Ifelodun Local Government Council Hon. Fatai Adekunle Ayoola residents empowered over 500 women and men both indigene and no-indigene of Ajegunle in the AJIF Annual Empowerment Program.

Delivering his keynote address at the event, Hon. Ayoola who also bagged the Lagos Panorama SDG Grassroots Award same day, asserted that it was important that his administration continue with the empowerment of both the youths and liberate the women in the grassroots.

He stated that “my administration’s plan in setting-up of AJIF Small and Medium scale Enterprise and yearly empowerment programs for the people of Ajegunle.”

On the aspect of entrepreneurs who benefitted from the N100,000. largesse, Hon. Ayoola said that his administration had provided platforms for beneficiaries to be trained and guided on how to invest the money received and make proper decisions.

“Also, the literacy rate among women in Nigeria was reported at 49.68 percent in 2015, according to World Bank collection of development indicators.

“In view of the above indicators, we consider it expedient to curb this societal menace in the grassroots”.

Recently the council boss took the Lagos Panorama crew among others which included ace nollywood actors Zack Orji and Paul Obazele on an inspection of some of his projects.

Among which are; the 40 hectares Ajegunle housing estate under construction through a Public/Private Participation. Others include the Oba Abdul Fatai Aremu Oyeyinka Aromire Oyegbami II Library and ICT Center inside the Father Sadiku Memorial Model Nursery/Primary school premises.

Hon Ayoola love for youths development was also obvious with the completion of the standard basketball court and also engaging professional coach to help groom budding talents within the local government. A five-aside football pitch and basketball court was also constructed at the Oluwa primary school.

No doubt Ajegunle is the home of grassroots football in Nigeria which has spurred the council chairman to construct another standard football pitch for public use with plan to also reconstruct the popular Maracana stadium that have produced the likes of Odion Ighalo, Humprey Edoboh, Samson Siasia, the current fastest scorer in the FIFA under 20 world cup who coincidentally is currently a member of the Ajeromi sports committee Monday Odiaka.
