AGBOYI-KETU COUNCIL HOLDS THREE-DAY FREE HEALTH OUTREACH FOR RESIDENTS

The Agboyi-Ketu Local Council Development Area (LCDA) has concluded a three-day comprehensive medical outreach aimed at enhancing the health and wellbeing of residents across the community.

The initiative, spearheaded by the Executive Chairman, Hon. (Mrs.) Adetola Adunni Abubakar, was officially flagged off on Tuesday, November 4, 2025, at the Council Secretariat. The programme featured free medical consultations, health screenings, and the distribution of essential drugs and Blood Pressure (BP) machines to beneficiaries. Over 2,000 residents benefitted from the exercise.

In her address, Hon. Adetola reaffirmed her administration’s commitment to inclusive governance and improved healthcare delivery. She emphasized the importance of regular medical checkups, urging residents to make their health a top priority. “Good health is the foundation of sustainable community development,” she noted, adding that her administration will continue to provide accessible healthcare services for all.

The outreach offered a wide range of free medical services, including blood pressure and blood sugar tests, HIV screening, BMI measurement, family planning, tuberculosis screening, kidney function tests, and eye examinations with free medicated glasses. Beneficiaries diagnosed with high blood pressure also received free BP machines to help them monitor and manage their condition effectively.

The second and third days of the event, held on November 5 and 6 at the Council Primary Health Centres in Akintan Mascara and Akinyemi Street, Alapere, respectively, attracted hundreds of residents eager to take advantage of the free health services.

In her closing remarks, Hon. Adetola expressed deep appreciation to the medical team, council staff, and community leaders for their dedication and support. She encouraged residents to prioritize their wellbeing and continue to seek regular health checkups.

Dignitaries present at the event included the Vice Chairman, Hon. Ganiu Fatai; Leader of the Legislative House, Hon. Aderoju Adekunle Adelowootan, alongside councillors; pioneer Chairman of Agboyi-Ketu, Pastor (Mrs.) Yetunde Arobieke; Aare Alaba Saliu; Hon. Abiodun Ogungbo; former council officials, management staff, and several political leaders within the LCDA.
