LAGOS — In a fresh effort to strengthen unity and restore cohesion within the All Progressives Congress (APC) in Agege, Hon. Oluwagbenga Michael Abiola, popularly known as Agbelebu, has constituted a reconciliation committee comprising seasoned party leaders and stakeholders across the constituency.
The initiative is designed to provide a platform for dialogue, mutual understanding and reconciliation, with the objective of ensuring that internal differences do not undermine the collective strength of the APC in Agege.
The committee includes prominent party figures such as Hon. Idowu Akerele, former Secretary to Agege Local Government; Hon. Razak Ajala, former APC Vice Chairman and Acting Chairman in Agege; Hon. Adegbenro Shodijo; Alhaji Omodele Moroof, both former APC Ward Chairmen; and Hon. Victor Ogunleye, a former Council Supervisor, alongside other respected party leaders and stakeholders.
The composition of the committee brings together individuals with extensive political experience, institutional knowledge and deep grassroots understanding of the APC in Agege.
Speaking on the initiative, Agbelebu reaffirmed his commitment to the unity of the party, declaring unequivocally that “APC in Agege remains one.”
He acknowledged that disagreements and divergent opinions are inevitable in any democratic organisation, but stressed that such differences should not become permanent obstacles to cooperation and collective progress.
The reconciliation process is expected to provide an opportunity for stakeholders to air their grievances, listen to one another, rebuild trust and identify areas of common interest for the continued growth and development of the party.
Agbelebu further clarified that the initiative is not intended to apportion blame or create winners and losers, but to rebuild the APC as a stronger and more united political family capable of effectively serving the people.
The reconciliation effort is anchored on the principle of “No Victor, No Vanquished,” reflecting the belief that the future of the APC in Agege must be built on unity, mutual respect, forgiveness and shared responsibility.
With the involvement of experienced former party leaders and government officials, the committee is expected to commence engagements with relevant stakeholders as part of efforts to resolve differences, restore confidence and strengthen the party’s grassroots structure.
Agbelebu’s message is clear: differences may exist, but the APC family must remain united.
APC in Agege remains one.
