This was disclosed by Tukur Mamu, the Publisher of Kaduna-based Desert Herald and Media Consultant to controversial Islamic cleric, Sheikh Ahmad Gumi, on Tuesday.

Mamu, who was formerly one of the negotiators with the terrorists and later withdrew over his life confirmed the release.

Tuesday’s release is coming a few days after three other victims of the abducted Kaduna-bound train were freed by the terrorists.

Among the freed passengers are Prof. Mustapha Umar Imam, a medical doctor at the Usman Dan Fodio University Teaching Hospital (UDUS), Sokoto. He was shot by the terrorists while in captivity.

Also released are: Akibu Lawal, Abubakar Ahmed Rufai, Muktar Shuaibu and Sidi Aminu Sharif.

Terrorists had on March 2, 2023 attacked an Abuja-Kaduna train, killed some people captures scores of others.

So far, 37 victims have regained their freedom. The number of those still in captivity now stands at 35.
