An 86-year-old Islamic cleric in Barkin Ladi Local Government Area of Plateau State, Imam Abdullahi Abubakar, who risked his life to hide 262 Christians in a mosque during a clash in Yelwa Gindi Village, will receive a National Honour this week.

President Muhammadu Buhari will present the award to him on October 11, 2022 at the State House in Abuja

The 83-year-old Imam Abubakar Abdullahi had earlier received the first-ever International Religious Freedom Award for shielding 262 Christians when herdsmen attacked 10 villages in Plateau State last year. Muslims and Christians should see themselves first as human beings and brothers.
