The First Lady of Lagos State, Dr. Mrs. Ibijoke Sanwo-Olu has congratulated the Executive Chairman of Somolu Local Government, Hon. Abdul Hamed Salawu and his team for the completion of the newly constructed Dr. Ibijoke Sanwo-Olu Primary Health Center, at the commissioning ceremony on Friday.
Dr. Sanwo-Olu who had served as the Medical Director of Somolu General Hospital, was with a great sense of reminiscence as she returned to the community to unveil the reconstructed state-of-the-art Primary Health Care Centre (PHC) by the Somolu Local Government.
As a member of the medical family, the First Lady clearly appreciated the strategic importance of the PHC System to medical care. Being the first point of call for the people in our communities, we cannot afford a situation whereby the PHC system is not effective and functional. Therefore, the importance of a strong, efficient, and accessible PHC System cannot be downplayed.
It is for this reason that the First Lady congratulated the Chairman of Somolu Local Government, Hon. Abdul Hamed Salawu and his team for the feat which obviously will help to expand access to PHC services in the council.
She also deeply appreciated the decision to name the facility in her honour in recognition of her modest efforts in the health sector.
