The traders made the demand after normalcy had been restored back to the market on Thursday 18th November, 2021. To this extent, we want  to sincerely appreciate the intervention of our responsive and responsible Governor, Mr Babajide Sanwo-Olu and our mother, the council chairman Hon. Omolola Essien for coming to our aid. We truly and really thank them.

Mr Victor Chukwugo, one of the perishable goods dealer and one of the arrowheads of the Igbos in the market said increased government engagement with them would ensure better understanding of their needs and the challenges they were faced with at  various times.

According to him, the traders sought an end to what they called “discrimination against Oyingbo market among all other markets in the state”.

Mr. Victor said the members of the association are law abiding and they would continue to relate harmoniously with the officials of the state and Local Government whenever being called upon.

He further stressed that Oyingbo Market  traders are in support of APC and the administration of Governor Sanwo-Olu. APC is our party because some of us are born here and we will continue to give credit to Asiwaju Bola Ahmed Tinubu any day.

Markets had in the past contributed immensely to the state`s economy and we are passionate about its development. He concluded.

Oyingbo Market was reopened to it’s normal trading activities on Wednesday 17th November, 2021 by the officials of Lagos Mainland Local Government.
