NAN launches multimedia web platform for subscribers

The News Agency of Nigeria today launched its long-awaited multimedia web platform for photographs, videos and infographics.

Styled, Nan Multimedia, the platform can be reached via the link https://multimedia.nan.ng

According to the managing director of the News Agency of Nigeria, Mr. Bayo Onanuga, the platform had been in the works since 2016 and is meant to further expand the services being offered by the agency.

“The launch brings our agency in line with world’s best practices in news agency journalism. I am especially excited that the launch coincides with the 40th anniversary of the agency”, said Onanuga.

“We expect to see a flood of users from foreign and local newspapers, publishers, bloggers, news sites looking for photographs and visuals about events in Nigeria, Africa’s most populous country and its largest economy”, he added

Existing subscribers have already been given log-in details by Metric Internet, the designers of the platform. Once they log in, they can download pictures as needed. They will see a ‘download’ button.

Non subscribers can also view the site and buy photos individually by clicking the ‘add to cart’ button. They can pay with any debit/credit card or make direct bank payments at checkout.

Download links will be emailed to the buyer once payment is successfully made.

“This being Version 1.0 of the portal, will be followed by regular system updates to continuously improve service delivery”, said Femi Olubosi, the Co-founder and CEO of Metric Internet, in Lagos.
