The Executive Chairman Onigbongbo LCDA, Hon Oladotun Olakanle has formally flagged off his campaign for the top job of the council on Saturday.
The All-Progressives Congress (APC) Onigbongbo LCDA party leader and member Governor’s Advisory Council (GAC), Dr. Abayomi Finnih admonished all party loyalists in Onigbongbo LCDA to commence house to house campaign and promised that Hon Olakanle will not disappoint them and all residents of Onigbongbo LCDA.
He noted that the chairman has promised to provide basic needs of the people which include improved infrastructures, healthcare service, quality basic education and a host of other developmental projects. The party leader also announced that the party congress has been postponed due to the Lagos Council Elections.
The Chief of Staff to the Lagos State Governor, Hon Tayo Akinmade Ayinde expressed his happiness for being one of the leaders of the local government, noted that Onigbongbo LCDA is one of the most peaceful local governments in the state and the first to deliver the primaries result to the state chapter of the party.
The COS described the chairman as an administrator per excellent with plans for a laudable legacy for the LCDA and also urged members of the party to go all out from house to house, street to street to canvass for votes for the party’s candidates in the coming elections.
He assured residents of Onigbongbo to vote for the Chairman because of his administrative prowess and passion for sustainable development which will be beneficial to the residents of Onigbongbo LCDA.
Hon Ayinde while speaking with Lagos Panorama during an interview section, advised youths across the state to eschew violence and be law-abiding during the council elections, so as to have a peaceful election and urged Lagosians to come all out and vote for APC.
The APC flag was handed by Dr. Finnih, Hon Ayinde and the Chairman APC Caretaker Committee, Onigbongbo LGA Alhaji Kehinde Onifade to the Chairman Hon Oladotun Olakanle and his Vice, Barr Rakiya Hassan as flagbearers of the party for Onigbongbo LCDA in the forthcoming Lagos Council Elections.
The Chairman in his response eulogized the party leadership for considering him for the Chairmanship position and promised not to let them down. He expressed his immense gratitude to Asiwaju Bola Tinubu who laid good legacies and pathways for all true progressives to follow.
He averred that road construction and provision of social amenities are basic duties of the local government and promised to key into the state governor’s THEMES Agenda for sustainable development growth of the LCDA.
He said “I will follow the good example of our amiable governor, Mr. Saleable, has laid down the THEMES Agenda, there is nothing in good governance that is not already enshrined in the THEMES Agenda. So, for any council chairman that is smart enough is to replicate the THEMES Agenda in the local government” he alluded.
The Council Boss also noted that youth and women empowerment shall be a priority of his administration. He noted that he has created a platform where youths with at least secondary school certificate can develop their God given creative talents in entertainments, fashion and several other skilled vocations.
Also at the event were the erstwhile National Legal Adviser of the party, Barr Babatunde Ogala (SAN), former Commissioners Ebenezer Akinbolade, Hon Adeniyi Oyemade, Otunba Okesola, all Councilors, LGA and ward Executives of the party and a host of other stalworth.
