The Lagos State chapter of All Progressives Congress (APC) is yet to formally release results of Saturday’s primary elections held across the 20 Local Government Areas and 37 Local Council Development Areas of the state to decide the Chairmanship and councillorship candidates of the party in the forthcoming LGAs/LCDAs elections in the state.

Party source who spoke to Lagos Monitoring Team said most of the results in circulation were not genuine, and that at the appropriate time, the results would be announced.

There were reports of violence and electoral malpractices in some Local Government Areas, while party registers were not available in other councils.

In some videos in circulation, registered party members were seen bitterly lamenting what they described as poor organisation which largely encouraged electoral irregularities.

According to a party source who does not want to be named on account of not being authorised to do so, the party “is yet to make formal announcement on the election results.”

“Yes, I can confirm to you that we are on ground at the party secretariat and no result has been announced.

“The party has received several complaints and reports of violence and irregularities that characterised the elections and the situation is currently being reviewed.

“The party hierarchy are also consulting widely and for now, the result has not been announced. There is nothing of such and I can confirm to you that most of the results in circulation are fake,” the source said.

Another top official of the party said the necessary action will be taken after the review of the situation.

“The party chairman, Hon Tunde Balogun; the Deputy Governor, Dr Kadri Obafemi Hamzat; The Chairman of the electoral Committee, Hon Wale Edun, will all be present when the decision will be made,” the source disclosed.
