#EndSARS: Court grants Eromosele Adene bail

A magistrate court in Yaba, Lagos state, on Tuesday granted bail in the sum of one million naira to Eromosele Adene, an #EndSARS protester.

Adene was arrested in Lagos on November 7 after the police invaded his residence in Ikeja, capital of Lagos.

The police nailed his arrest on his involvement in the #EndSARS protest and for reportedly providing financial support to the movement.

He was taken to the police command headquarters and then transferred to the Area F command before the police detained him at the SCID, Panti.

He was flown to Abuja last Monday and detained for seven days before being brought back to Lagos on Sunday.

During the hearing on Tuesday, the police asked the court to remand Adene for another 30 days to conclude their investigations.

But Tunde Jinadu, Adene’s counsel, objected to the remand application, asking the court to grant his client bail on medical grounds.

The court ruled in favour of the defendant, granting him bail in the sum of one million naira and two family members as sureties.
