Ikeja Local Government is set to host the Lagos State Head of Service, Mr Olabode Agoro, during its October 2026 Monthly Environmental Sanitation Exercise scheduled for Saturday, October 31, 2026.
The exercise, which will take place between 6:30 a.m. and 8:30 a.m., is expected to bring together the Executive Chairman of Ikeja Local Government, Comrade Akeem Olalekan Dauda (AKOD), members of the Legislative Arm, management staff and residents to promote environmental cleanliness, proper waste management and healthy living across the council area.
The visit by the state Head of Service is expected to underscore the importance of collective action in maintaining a clean and hygienic environment, preventing environmental hazards and safeguarding public health.
Ahead of the exercise, the Executive Chairman, Comrade Akeem Olalekan Dauda, has called on residents, traders, business owners and other stakeholders to participate actively by cleaning their surroundings, disposing of waste properly and complying with environmental sanitation guidelines.
Dauda stressed that a clean environment remains fundamental to public health, sustainable community development and an improved quality of life. He urged residents to embrace environmental cleanliness as a continuous responsibility rather than a practice limited to the monthly sanitation exercise.
The council reiterated its commitment to promoting a cleaner, healthier and more sustainable environment through community participation and responsible environmental practices.
Residents are therefore encouraged to join hands with the local government to sustain a culture of cleanliness and protect the well-being of communities across Ikeja.
Together, let us keep Ikeja clean, healthy and environmentally sustainable.
