Union Bank, Brand Chief Honoured at WIMCA 2026

LAGOS — Union Bank of Nigeria has been recognised for its outstanding commitment to gender inclusion, winning the Most Outstanding Bank in Gender Inclusion award at the 2026 Women in Marketing and Communications Conference and Awards (WIMCA).

LAGOS — Union Bank of Nigeria has been recognised for its outstanding commitment to gender inclusion, winning the Most Outstanding Bank in Gender Inclusion award at the 2026 Women in Marketing and Communications Conference and Awards (WIMCA).

The prestigious event, held on Saturday, August 29, 2026, at the Landmark Event Centre, Victoria Island, Lagos, brought together leading female marketing and communications professionals from across Africa.

The award recognises Union Bank’s sustained efforts to promote gender diversity through an inclusive workplace and financial ecosystem designed to empower women, female entrepreneurs and professionals through tailored financial solutions, capacity building, mentorship, networking and expanded economic opportunities.

The 2026 edition of WIMCA, organised under the theme, “Grow, Give, Glow: Building Resilience for Distinction,” focused on industry trends, leadership, resilience and the advancement of women within the marketing, branding and communications ecosystem.

Adding to Union Bank’s recognition, its Chief Brand and Marketing Officer, Mrs. Olufunmilola Aluko, was named among the Top 50 Most Influential Women in Marketing and Communications.

The recognition placed Aluko alongside other prominent brand and communications executives celebrated for their contributions to the growth and transformation of the industry.

Reacting to the honours, Aluko said Union Bank’s recognition was a validation of its long-standing commitment to gender inclusion.

WIMCA was established by Nigerian brand and marketing publication Brand Communicator to provide a platform for celebrating female leadership and promoting greater participation of women in the brand, marketing and communications industry.

Union Bank said it would continue to support platforms and initiatives that promote women’s empowerment and meaningful participation across the marketing communications landscape.

The bank reaffirmed its commitment to inclusive growth, expanding opportunities for women and contributing to the continued development of Nigeria’s brand, marketing and communications industry.
