The Lagos State Fire and Rescue Service has successfully extinguished a fire outbreak that affected the electronics section of Justrite Superstore located at No. 116, Akowonjo Road, Jimoh Bus Stop, Egbeda-Akowonjo, Lagos.

According to the Service, the distress call was received at 8:15 a.m. on Thursday, July 23, 2026, while firefighters from the Abesan and Agege Fire Stations arrived at the scene by 8:28 a.m. to combat the blaze.

The fire was confined to the second floor of the commercial building, where the supermarket’s electronics department is located. Firefighters immediately deployed specialised firefighting equipment and carried out coordinated operations to contain the flames, prevent the fire from spreading to other parts of the building, and protect lives, property and the surrounding environment.

The Lagos State Fire and Rescue Service confirmed that the fire has been completely extinguished, with recovery and mop-up operations currently ongoing to ensure the area is safe.

Preliminary investigations suggest that the fire may have originated from an alternative power source, believed to be a solar inverter system.

Fortunately, no casualties or injuries were recorded in the incident.
