President Tinubu Announces 26 New Appointments Across Key Federal Agencies

President Bola Ahmed Tinubu has approved the appointment of 26 individuals into the boards and leadership of 10 Federal Government agencies and commissions, with all appointments taking immediate effect.

Among the notable appointments is former Ekiti State Governor, Ayo Fayose, who has been named Chairman of the Rural Electrification Agency (REA). He will serve alongside Alhaji Ahmadu Abubakar and Engineer Ilyasu Ibrahim Makinta as non-executive board members. The agency’s Director-General, Abba Abubakar Aliyu, and three previously appointed Executive Directors will complete the board.

The President also reconstituted the National Salaries, Incomes and Wages Commission, appointing Major General Junaid Bindawa (Rtd.) as Chairman. Former Lagos lawmaker Olajumoke Okoya-Thomas was appointed Secretary of the Commission.

Oladele Olatubosun (Oyo)

Yakubu Umar Barde (Kaduna)

Dr. Mai Adamu Yau (Borno)

Ginika Florence Tor (Enugu)

Engineer Lawrence Okoh (Edo)

Bello Morenike Iyabode (Kogi)

In another development, Tosin Johnson Adeyanju, previously appointed Executive Secretary of the National Lottery Trust Fund (NLTF), has been redeployed as Secretary of the Revenue Mobilisation Allocation and Fiscal Commission (RMAFC).

Other appointments approved by President Tinubu include:

Dr. Abuh Mohammed – Director-General, National Population Commission (NPC)

Dr. Akinola Odeyemi – Managing Director, Nigerian Bulk Electricity Trading (NBET)

Dr. Anthony Inalegwu Godwin – Chairman/Chief Executive Officer, Nigeria Atomic Energy Commission

Engineer Julius Oloro – Chief Executive Officer, National Centre for Agricultural Mechanisation (NCAM), succeeding the late Dr. A.R. Kamal.

The President also inaugurated a new board for the Fiscal Responsibility Commission, with Dr. Abdullahi Maikano Saidu as Chairman. Other members are Mohammed Asmau, Mohammed Aliyu Makama, Dr. Suleiman Gidado, Louis O. Ndukwe, Amaechi Ugwele and Olaniyi Idowu Onikola.

Additionally, Shuni Muhammad Dahiru was appointed Executive Secretary of the National Commission for Mass Literacy, Adult and Non-Formal Education, replacing Professor Shu’aibu Shehu Aliyu, who was reassigned to the Petroleum Trust Development Fund (PTDF) in April.

To fill the vacancy created by the resignation of Mathias Byuan as Executive Director (Finance) of the Federal Housing Authority (FHA), the President appointed Gisaor Vincent Iorja, an economist, legal scholar and current Secretary of the Benue State Independent Electoral Commission (BSIEC).

According to a statement issued on Monday by the Special Adviser to the President on Information and Strategy, Bayo Onanuga, all the appointments take immediate effect.
