The Executive Chairman of Ikeja Local Government, Comrade Akeem Olalekan Dauda (AKOD), today hosted members of the Christian Association of Nigeria (CAN), Ikeja District, during their monthly prayer session held at Ikeja House.
The gathering was convened to seek God’s divine guidance and blessings for Ikeja Local Government and the nation, with fervent prayers offered for peace, unity, security, progress, and prosperity. Intercessions were also made for the President of the Federal Republic of Nigeria, President Bola Ahmed Tinubu, GCFR; the Member representing Ikeja Federal Constituency, Rt. Hon. James Abiodun Faleke; Chairman AKOD; the Executive and Legislative Arms of Ikeja Local Government; the Council’s Management and Staff; as well as all residents of Ikeja and Nigeria.
Delivering the sermon, Pastor Ajayi Rotimi Olufemi urged Nigerians to remain steadfast in prayer and unwavering in faith, expressing confidence that the country would continue to enjoy God’s grace, peace, and abundant prosperity.
In his remarks, Chairman AKOD commended the leadership and members of CAN Ikeja District for their consistent commitment to praying for the nation and its leaders. He stressed the importance of unity, faith, and collective responsibility in building a stronger society.
The Chairman also encouraged residents to remain law-abiding, actively fulfil their civic responsibilities, and continue supporting initiatives aimed at improving the quality of life in the community. He reaffirmed his administration’s unwavering commitment to delivering people-centred governance and sustainable development across Ikeja Local Government.
The prayer session ended on a solemn and hopeful note, with renewed supplications for lasting peace, unity, stability, and prosperity in Ikeja, Lagos State, and the Federal Republic of Nigeria.
