The Vice Chairman of Ikeja Local Government, Hon. Abisola Omisore, has announced the passing of her beloved father, Prince Adeboye Adedapọ Arẹmu Omisore, who died at the age of 89.
Born on March 13, 1937, into the distinguished Omisore Royal Family of Ile-Ife, Osun State, Prince Omisore lived a life defined by honour, courage, leadership, and unwavering commitment to public service. He began his education at St. Stephen’s Primary School, Modakeke, before attending Ife Anglican Secondary School, Omi-Okun, where he developed the values that shaped his lifelong dedication to community development and excellence.
Widely regarded as a courageous and principled leader, Prince Omisore earned respect during the political turbulence that engulfed the Western Region in the 1960s. He stood firmly in defence of his family and community, demonstrating remarkable bravery, resilience, and an uncompromising commitment to justice.
His passion for grassroots governance culminated in his election as the first Executive Chairman of Oranmiyan Local Government in June 1981. During his tenure, he championed people-oriented policies, promoted good governance, and prioritized the welfare of residents. His visionary leadership left an enduring mark on the local government and strengthened his standing as a respected statesman and community leader.
Beyond public office, Prince Omisore distinguished himself in business. In 1987, he became a certified timber contractor under the former Oyo State, now Osun State, contributing to economic development through entrepreneurship, diligence, and enterprise.
Throughout his lifetime, Prince Omisore remained a symbol of integrity, humility, patriotism, and selfless service. His unwavering dedication to the progress of his people, coupled with his exemplary leadership, earned him admiration across generations.
