The President Bola Ahmed Tinubu and Dr. Kadri Obafemi Hamzat Independent Campaign Group (PBAT-KOH ICG) has congratulated the Secretary of the Lagos State Governor’s Advisory Council (GAC), Alhaji Mutiu Lawal Are, on his emergence as the City People Magazine 2026 Political Icon of the Year.
In a statement issued by its Directorate of Media and Public Relations, the group described the honour, conferred at the 2026 City People Awards for Excellence held on Sunday, July 5, as a fitting recognition of Alhaji Are’s decades of dedicated service, grassroots mobilisation, and unwavering commitment to progressive politics.

The PBAT-KOH ICG also praised Alhaji Are’s strategic leadership, describing him as one of the key architects of the progressive movement in Lagos and a steadfast supporter of the political vision championed by President Bola Ahmed Tinubu and Lagos State Governor Babajide Sanwo-Olu.
