AKOD Hosts Ikeja Muslim Clerics, Seeks Prayers for Peace and Cleaner Environment

The Chairman of Ikeja Local Government, Comrade AKOD, on Monday hosted members of the League of Imams and Alfas in Ikeja for the council’s monthly Muslim prayer session for July, reaffirming his administration’s commitment to placing God at the centre of governance.

The prayer gathering focused on seeking divine guidance, peace and stability for Nigeria, with special prayers offered for President Bola Ahmed Tinubu, Hon. James Abiodun Faleke, leaders across the country, the Executive and Legislative arms of Ikeja Local Government, the council’s management and staff, as well as residents of Ikeja.

The session was led by the Chairman of the League of Imams and Alfas in Ikeja, Alhaji Kamorudeen Illo, while the Vice Chairman of Ikeja Local Government, Hon. Omisore, also attended.

Speaking at the event, Comrade AKOD urged the Islamic clerics to consistently encourage residents, through their sermons, to maintain a clean and healthy environment, describing environmental sanitation as a collective responsibility.

He reiterated his administration’s commitment to supporting initiatives that promote the safety of lives and property in line with the objectives of his I.K.E.J.A. Agenda.

The council chairman also expressed appreciation to the clerics for their continuous prayers and unwavering support for his administration, noting that their spiritual guidance remains invaluable to the progress and development of Ikeja Local Government.
